How to get to Parramatta

By Air
Parramatta lies at the geographical heart of Sydney and is well serviced by ferry, train, bus and road networks and is within easy reach of the Sydney CBD and Sydney Airport.

Taxi
Each terminal at Sydney Airport has its own sheltered taxi rank with supervisors on hand during peak times to ensure a smooth flow of taxis for travellers.
 
The approximate fare from Sydney airport to Paramatta is $100 - $120 (one way) and takes about 45min.
Passengers pay for any bridge or road tolls on top of the fare (these fares are in Australian dollars and are based on non-peak traffic conditions). A $4.00 airport toll is payable by all passengers taking a taxi from any of Sydney Airport’s taxi ranks.

By Ferry
The River Express travels between Circular Quay and Parramatta Wharf every day between 7am and 7pm.  It is one of Sydney’s must do experiences with a picturesque route to Parramatta passing riverside suburbs, wetlands and Sydney Olympic Park. The journey takes about 1.5 hours and the approximate fare is $7.60.

Train
There are train stations located at both the International and Domestic terminals, which operate as part of the Airport Link train service. The Domestic terminal train station is located directly between T2 and T3 terminals. The International terminal train station is located at the northern end of the terminal and is accessible from the Arrivals level. Cost: $18.40, duration: 45min.

Parramatta Station is located at the Parramatta Transport Interchange, a 10-minute bus ride from the University. The Western, Cumberland and Blue Mountains train lines service Parramatta Station.

Bus
To travel from Parramatta to Parramatta campus catch Sydney Buses M52, 520, 521, 523, 524 and 525 services. Please note these services are PrePay only. Sydney Buses, Hillsbus, Hopkinsons, Metrobus and Veolia Services run frequent bus services between the Parramatta Transport Interchange and the University during peak periods.
 
The trip from Sydney airport to Parramatta Station takes approximately 2 hours.

Opal Card
The Opal card is a free smartcard ticket that you keep and reuse. You only need to get an Opal card once, and then you load value onto the card to pay for travel on all public transport in Sydney (all trains, busses & ferries). Some busses only accept Opal cards.

Airport Transfers
Anytime Shuttle is a Sydney Premium Airport Shuttle Bus Service. Anytime Shuttle provides a safe and reliable DOOR-TO-DOOR airport shuttle service in Sydney. A single fare from the airport to Parramatta is approximately $60.00.

Car
Parramatta is 24km from central Sydney (Google Map coordinates).

The UWS Parramatta campus is located on the corner of Victoria Road and James Ruse Drive in the suburb of Rydalmere. Entrance to the Parramatta South campus is via Victoria Road.
Please be aware that parking on Parramatta campus is limited and parking permits and fees apply. Pay and Display one day parking permits can be purchased from parking meters on campus for $9.00. This will entitle the holder to park in blue bays only.
